Continued mobilization of financial resources aimed at installing modern IT infrastructure at St Pauls Rural Primary School for easy access to ICTs in education

  • Education E-Learning

Digital technology has now become so pervasive and affects the creation, storage, access, analysis and dissemination of knowledge. Moreover, all areas of human activity are increasingly being touched by it. Academic knowledge is no different. To be a scholar now means knowing how to find, analyze, organize and apply digital information. Studying without the use of technology is increasingly like learning to dive without water. This is not an argument for teaching generic computer literacy skills, such as how to keyboard or use a word-processor, but for using computers for digital imaging in medicine, for graphical information systems in geology, for using wikis to teach writing skills, for knowing what databases hold information relevant to solving a particular problem. These and many more skills will be obtained either through the direct impartation of knowledge or tacit knowledge once you contact Dr. William

    Applied Statistics

Dr William Phiri provides the following skills/services with passion:
Practical presentation analysis of multivariate statistical methods through the use of emerging ICTs:
    Simple regression
    Multiple regression
    Multivariate analysis of variance
    Factor analysis.
These practical analyses are done in the context of active research issues.
This will enable recipients of these services to:
Understand published scientific research which used multivariate methods
Select the statistical method appropriate to each of a number of research questions
    Understand the method's general principles
Interpret the output of the statistics package employed to do the analysis which among others include correlation and regression, testing mediation and moderation type hypotheses, multivariate analysis of variance, analysis of longitudinal data, exploratory factor analysis, reliability and scale construction plus an orientation on the SPSS latest version.
Usability of ICTs in agriculture (especially the growing, storage and marketing of soya beans)
